ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE BRIGHTON & HOVE (SKYLINE – LONDON TO BRIGHTON CYCLE RIDE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

On Sunday, 15 September 2024 the Skyline – London to Brighton Cycle Ride is taking place and finishes in Madeira Drive, Brighton. To facilitate its safe passage parts of the route will need to be closed to traffic and therefore Brighton & Hove City Council have made an order under Section 16A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, which temporarily brings into force the following traffic regulations:

No person shall cause or permit any vehicle that is not participating in, or connected with the Skyline – London to Brighton Cycle Ride to proceed in, exit from, or turn into any of the lengths of road specified below, except upon the direction of or with the permission of a Police Constable in uniform or that of a uniformed marshal:

Sunday, 14 September 2025 from 06:00 to 19:00

Ditchling Road, Brighton – from its boundary with East Sussex County Council to Coldean Lane

Sunday, 14 September 2025 from 07:00 to 19:00

(a) Coldean Lane – from its junction with Ditchling Road to its junction with Forest Road

(b) Coldean Lane – southbound carriageway only, from its junction with Forest Road to its junction with the northern kerb line of Park Road.

(c) Richmond Parade – at its junction with Grand Parade

(d) Morley Street – from its junction with Grand Parade to its junction with Circus Street

(e) Kingswood Street – at its junction with Grand Parade

Temporary One-way Traffic Flow

Coldean Lane – northbound carriageway, from its junction with Forest Road to its junction with the northern kerb line of Park Road. Traffic flow reversed from northbound to southbound only.

Prohibition of Left Turns:

(a) From Hawkhurst Road (North exit) into Coldean Lane

(b) From Denman Place into Coldean Lane

(c) From Richmond Place into Richmond Parade

(d) From Grand Parade into Morley Street

(e) From Grand Parade into Kingswood Street

(f) From Grand Parade into Edward Street

(g) From Pavilion Parade into Pavilion Street

(h) From Old Steine into Steine Street

(i) From Old Steine into Marine Parade at the Aquarium Roundabout

(j) From Marine Parade into Madeira Drive

Prohibition of Right Turn:

(a) From Ditchling Road to Coldean Lane

(b) From Grand Parade into Richmond Parade

(c) From Grand Parade into Morley Street

Temporary suspension of existing one-way order:

Circus Street
