What is happening?

BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - VERNON TERRACE, BRIGHTON

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 3 September 2025 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-

a) The temporary prohibition of southbound traffic on Vernon Terrace from its junction with the Seven Dials to its junction at Clifton Hill.

(b) For the duration of these works access will be maintained for residents in Montpelier Crescent.

2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out major gas main replacement works.

3. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.

4. This Order comes into force on 15 September 2025 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed.
