What is happening?

BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – LEWES ROAD, BRIGHTON

  1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 3 September 2025 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-

    The Suspension of the southbound bus and cycle lane from a point 20 metres north of the Bus Depot entrance continuing in a southerly direction for 70 metres to outside number 108.

  2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to improve the carriageway drainage and upgrade bus stops.

  3. Pedestrian access will be maintained with a pedestrian walkway, with buses and cyclists to use the vehicular traffic lane.

  4. This Order comes into force on 8th September for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 21 November 2025.
