What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(SIDNEY ROAD, AMPTHILL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the entire length of Sidney Road, Ampthill.
This temporary closure is required to enable micro asphalt surfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 17 September 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Ashburnham Road, Station Road, Flitwick Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 15 September 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Clophill from junction with Mill Lane to junction with Jaques Lane.
This temporary closure is required to enable micro asphalt surfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 17 September 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Shefford Road, A507, A6, High Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 15 September 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Gypsy Lane, Aspley Guise 20 metres south of Lark Rise.
This temporary closure is required to enable mains repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 15 September to 10 October 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Horsepool Lane, B5704, Newport Road, Aspley Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 15 September 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable an annual inspection, re-rail and pothole repairs to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 11pm on the 13th September 2025 to 4am on 15th September 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE
DISABLED PARKING BAYS ON HAWTHORN WAY, SILSOE
Reason for proposal: The disabled parking spaces would provide dedicated places for blue badge holders to park. Please see accompanying statement of reasons for more details.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following length of road in Silsoe:-
1. Hawthorn Way, north side, from a point in line with the common property boundary between No.5 and No.7 Hawthorn Way and extending in a north-easterly direction, covering an area approximately 6.6 metres in length and approximately 3 metres in width.
2. Hawthorn Way, north side, from a point approximately 6.6 metres northeast of a point in line with the common property boundary between No.5 and No.7 Hawthorn Way and extending in a north-easterly direction, covering an area approximately 6.6 metres in length and approximately 3 metres in width.
The two Disabled Bays are positioned consecutively, with one directly in front of the other. Please see plan for clarification.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(LIDLINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO.21)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 7th March 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along that part of public Footpath No. 21, Lidlington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9819 3867 to (OS GR) SP 9793 3857 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 13th March 2026.
This temporary closure is required for safety purposes as part of the surface of the path near the footbridge has collapsed. The closure is expected to continue from 14th September 2025 for up to six months.
The alternative route whilst the closure is in place is along Lidlington public footpaths No. 16, No. 14 and No. 20.
