Norfolk - Speed Limit Consolidation & Variation Orders
What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(Acle, Walsoken And West Walton Various Roads) Speed Limit Orders 2025
The Norfolk County Council has made the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 1st September, and which will come into effect on 8th September 2025:
The Norfolk County Council (Walsoken and West Walton Various Roads) (50 mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2025
The effect of this Order will be to:
1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Walsoken and West Walton) (50 m.p.h Speed Limit) Order 2007 ("the 2007 Order") and The Norfolk County Council (Walsoken, Various Roads) (50 m.ph Speed Limit) Order 2009; and
2. Vary the 2007 Order by removing the existing the reference to the B198 Lynn Road and prohibiting any motor vehicle from exceeding 50 miles per hour along the following length of road:
B198 Lynn Road - From a point 37 metres south-west of the centreline of its junction with the U21104 Grassgate Lane (southern end) north-eastwards to its junction with the A47.
The 50mph speed limit on the above length of road is a change to the existing 60mph national speed limit.
The purpose of this consolidation and variation is for clarity and the efficient administration of the speed restrictions. This includes making typographical corrections, removing superfluous wording, and updating legislative references. The reference of 'vehicles' is being updated to 'motor vehicles' to reflect current legislation.

The effect of this Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 50 miles per hour along the length of road specified in the Schedule below:
