What is happening?

(VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH LAKELAND LOCALITY)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.14)

ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 24th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for those dates as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U5098, Broughton Beck – From 24th September 2025 for Approx. duration 4 days (Ref: TTROW/15657)

From its junction with the U5097, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 650 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U5098 (Eller Riggs Brow), U5099, C5018 and the U5097.

2. C5016 Stockbridge Lane and the U5578, Ulverston – From 29th September 2025 for Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: TTROW/15688)

(i) C5016 Stockbridge Lane, Ulverston, from its junction with the U5578, extending in a north easterly then south easterly direction to its junction with Stonecross Gardens; and

(ii) U5578 Ulverston, from its junction with Stockbridge Lane, south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 520 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Stockbridge Lane, Daltongate, County Road (A590), U5124 and the unrestricted section of the U5578.

3. C5016 and the U5121, Beckside – From 6th October 2025 for Approx. duration 4 days (Ref: TTROW/15747)

(i) C5016 Beckside, from its junction with the U5121, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 690 metres; and

(ii) U5121 Beckside, from its junction with the C5016, extending in a southerly direction to its junction with the C5018.

Alternative Route for South East Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted section of the C5016, C5015, A595, A5092, A590, Newland Road, Canal Street, County Road, Brewery Street (B5281), Fountain Street, King Street, Daltongate, Stockbridge Lane, the unrestricted section of the C5016 and the C5018.

Alternative Route for North West Bound Vehicles: via the C5018, the unrestricted section of the C5016, Stockbridge Lane, Daltongate, Queen Street (B5281), County Road (A590), Canal Street, Newland Road, A590, A5092, A595, C5015 and the unrestricted section of the C5016.

4. U5073, Broughton-In-Furness – From 20th October 2025 for Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: TTROW/15915)

From a point approx. 40 metres north east of its junction with the A595, extending in a north easterly then north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 870 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U5073, A593 and the A595.
