Wanderers Avenue & Talbot Road, Wolverhampton - Temporary Road Closures
What is happening?
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(WANDERERS AVENUE AND TALBOT ROAD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
* Wanderers Avenue closed in both directions at its junction with Dudley Road to its junction with Brevitt Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 22 September 2025 until 28 September 2025.
* Wanderers Avenue closed in both directions at its junction with Brevitt Road to its junction with Shaw Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 29 September 2025 until 5 October 2025.
* Shaw Road and Brevitt Road closed at its junctions with Wanderers Avenue. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 29 September 2025 until 5 October 2025.
* Wanderers Avenue closed in both directions at its junction with Shaw Road to its junction with Talbot Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 6 October 2025 until 12 October 2025. Vehicular Diversion Route: Hawthorne Road, Brevitt Road, Knox Road & Shaw Road and vice versa.
*Talbot Road closed in both directions at its junction with Wanderers Avenue to its junction with Shaw Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 13 October 2025 until 3 November 2025. Vehicular Diversion Route: Shaw Road and Wanderers Avenue and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the dates detailed above.
The Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works by Cadent.
