Essex, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

(Various Roads, Harwich) (St Helena Hospice Half Marathon) (Special Events) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under 16 A-C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, has made the above Orders to facilitate the St Helena Hospice Half Marathon.

Effect of the orders: To temporarily close the following roads, Harwich in the District of Tendring (route of Marathon):

West StreetFrom its junction with Main Road, to its junction with The Quay.
The QuayFrom its junction with West Street to its junction with Kings Quay Street.
Kings Quay StreetFrom its junction with The Quay to its junction with Wellington Road.
Wellington RoadFrom its junction with Kings Quay Street to Outpart Eastward.
Outpart EastwardFrom its junction with Wellington Road to its junction with Angelgate.
AngelgateFrom its junction with Outpart Eastward to the Sailing Club, then south down the sea front.
Wick LaneFrom its junction with Lower Marine Parade to its junction with Low Road.
Low RoadFrom its junction with Wick Lane to its junction with Gravel Hill Way.
Gravel Hill WayFrom its junction with Low Road to its junction with Abbott Road.
Abbott RoadFrom its junction with Gravel Hill Way to its junction with Low Road.
The northbound carriageway of the A120, Harwich will also be closed for public safety from the roundabout in its junction with Ingestre Street to its junction with West Street.

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on 07 September 2025 for 1 day between the hours of 9:00 to 17:00 or until the celebrations signs are showing and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the St Helena Hospice Half Marathon. Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure. The Orders will come into effect on 07 September 2025 and may continue in force for 3 days (in relation to the restrictions on the route of the Marathon) unless extended by the Secretary of State.

(High Street, Manningtree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street, Manningtree in the District of Tendring, from its junction with South Street for a distance of approximately 35m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP022135103253A – Rose Builders Ltd.). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct works are undertaken by Rose Builders Ltd.

An alternative route is available via B1352, A137 and vice versa (with access only into Station Road, High Street and The Walls).

The Order will come into effect on 12th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Seaton Close, Lawford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Seaton Close, Lawford in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Edgefield Avenue for a distance of approximately 70m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311004WGGFDM35 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct lay works are undertaken by Openreach.

No diversion route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 29th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Straight Road, Bradfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Straight Road, Bradfield in the District of Tendring, for a portion approximately 305m south of its junction with Windmill Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AH0100011129866 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Steam Mill Road, Windmill Road and vice versa (with access only into Straight Road).

The Order will come into effect on 29th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
