What is happening?

NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

EXPERIMENTAL VARIATION TRAFFIC

REGULATION ORDER 2025

On 8 September 2025, the North Lanarkshire Council made the above named

Traffic Regulation Order in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in Scotland in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to said Act and having complied with the statutory requirements of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999. The Order is experimental and is initially in operation until Wednesday, 17 March 2027, a period not exceeding 18 months.

The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on Wednesday, 17

September 2025, is to amend the North Lanarkshire Council (Bellshill Area) (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 2018 as amended in so far is it relates to Schedule II No Waiting and No Loading at any time on Parklands Avenue, Eurocentral, Holytown due to the road safety concerns associated with indiscriminate parking.

Any person wishing to object to the Order should send details of the grounds for objection in writing to the Chief Officer (Legal and Democratic), North Lanarkshire Council, Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell ML1 1AB or by emailing troconsultations@northlan.gov.uk by Tuesday, 17 March 2026 and must contain the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made.
