Essex - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions due to Works

What is happening?

(Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh)

(Temporary Suspension of One Way & Temporary Introduction of One Way) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily suspend the one-way restriction in that length of Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with High Street in a north westerly then north easterly direction to its junction with London Hill (travelling north) as detailed in ‘Essex County Council (Various Streets, Rayleigh) (One-Way Traffic) Order 2002’.

2. To temporarily introduce a one-way restriction in that length of Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with London Hill in a south westerly then south easterly direction to its junction with High Street (travelling south).

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 11th September 2025 exact dates will be specified on one.network. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Daws Heath Road, Hadleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Daws Heath Road, Hadleigh in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point approximately 35m south east of its junction with Sherry Way for distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th September 2025 for 2 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EN029M127996 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for the works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter installation works undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Daws Heath Road, Western Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Meadway, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Meadway, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point approximately north east of its junction with Furtherwick Road to its end a distance of approximately 50m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7031001437713 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for the works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service works are undertaken by Cadent.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(St Marys Drive, South Benfleet) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Marys Drive, South Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Adelaide Gardens for a distance of approximately 20m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013330618 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for the works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via St Marys Drive, Norwood Drive, B1014, B1006, St Marys Drive and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bonnygate, Fryerns) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bonnygate, Fryerns in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 30m north east of its junction with Curling Tye for a distance of approximately 55m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411002WG4L6N9Z – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for the works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting and spine works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Bonnygate, Curling Tye, The Hatherley and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Cherrydown West, Kingswood (West Bound Only)) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cherrydown West, Kingswood in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Lee Woottens Lane to its junction with Nether Mayne a distance of approximately 40m (west bound only). The closure is scheduled to continue from 1st September 2025 for 5 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP20127001510-03CW – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge painting works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Cherrydown West, Station Way, Ashdon Way, Nether Mayne.

The Order came into effect on 1st September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Oak Road, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Oak Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Furtherwick Road to its end a distance of approximately 115m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

“The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporarily “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time” restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions in the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 14th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2389811 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Queensmere, Thundersley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Castle Point as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

“The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure is scheduled to commence within an 18-month period from 28th August 2025, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate carriageway patching and then re-opened on the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Watery Lane, Rawreth/Rayleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Watery Lane, Rawreth/Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from the junction of Hullbridge Road to the junction of Highlands Road a distance of approximately 975m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2390517 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Hullbridge Road, Rawreth Lane, Chelmsford Road, Beeches Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 28th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
