Ambleside, Temporary Road Closure For Helvellyn Triathlon Event

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5001 KIRKSTONE ROAD, AMBLESIDE)(HELVELLYN TRIATHLON)(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of part of the Helvellyn Triathlon (“the Event”) near Ambleside, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C5001 Kirkstone Road, Ambleside from its junction with Oaks Field extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with the A592.

A way for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

A suitable alternative route for motor vehicles will be signed and available as follows:

Southwest bound Traffic: via the A592, A591 (Ambleside), Wansfell Road, A593, A591 Rydal Road and the unrestricted section of the C5001.

Northeast bound Traffic: via the unrestricted section of the C5001, A591 and A592.

The Order will come into operation on 07 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum period of up to three days from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, however it will only be required for the duration of the Event which is likely to be between 0800 hours and 1300 hours on Sunday 07 September 2025.
