What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000145419860: The City of Manchester (Wilmslow Road, Old Moat Ward)(Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Wilmslow Road. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate long sided connection to main. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 21st September 2025 and on the 28th September 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 21st September 2025and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 10th September 2025.
ORDER NO. MCC145431691: The City of Manchester (Talbot Road, Withington Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Talbot Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Mauldeth Road, Kingsway, Talbot Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate footway reconstruction works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 22nd September 2025 to the 10th October 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 22nd September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
