What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.135) ORDER 2025. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.101) ORDER 2025.

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 8th September 2025 made the above Orders under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Orders will come into effect on 17th September 2025. The Orders will:
1. Introduce various lengths of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Abbots Wood Road, Cherry Tree Close, Hart Lane, Kenneth Road, Tower Way.
2. On Hitchin Road remove various lengths of waiting restrictions and introduce in their place limited waiting parking bays in operation Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm.
3. On Hitchin Road remove a length of limited waiting parking bay and introduce in its place a loading bay maximum stay 30 minutes with no return within 1 hour.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers contained in the above Act or any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
