Surrey - Temporary Road Closures due to Gulley Cleaning and Loop Works

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 03 September 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Langley Vale Road (D2251) Epsom Downs as extends from its junction with (D2202) Headley Road to its junction with (D2187) Grosvenor Road. Alternative Routes – (1) Headley Road; Wilmerhatch Lane; Woodcote Green Road; A24 South Street/High Street/Ashley Road; B290 Ashley Road; and Langley Vale Road; and (2) Langley Vale Road; B290 Ashley Road; A24 Ashley Road/South Street; Woodcote Green Road; Wilmerhatch Lane; and Headley Road. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 18 September 2025 is required to facilitate gulley cleaning works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over one day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Chessington Road (B284) West Ewell

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Chessington Road (B284) West Ewell as extends eastbound from its junction with Chessington Road (C164) to the roundabout with Hook Road (B284) and Chessington Road (B2200).

Alternative Route – B284 (Ruxley Lane), A240 (Kingston Road and Ewell By-Pass) and B2200 (London Road and Chessington Road), or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate loop works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 September 2025 for 2 days. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
