What is happening?

Somerset Council 
A39 Williton to Bridgwater Road, Nether Stowey  in the Parishes of East Quantoxhead and Kilve  (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2025 
Notice is hereby given that on the 5th day of September 2025 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 29th day of August 2025, to introduce a temporary 30mph Speed Limit as specified in the Schedule below. 
This Order will come into operation on the 12th day of September 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 15th day of September 2025 and last for one day (between 0930 hours and 1530 hours) to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.
The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles. Schedule - Temporary 30mph Speed Limit 
A39 Williton to Bridgwater Road, Nether Stowey from a point 145 metres west from its junction with Frog Lane in an easterly direction for a distance of 1020 metres. 

Statement of reasons for making the Order 
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
