Church Street, Timberscombe - Temporary restrictions due to new water connection

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Church Street 
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Church Street - from 64 metres south of the junction with Forge Cottages, southwards for a total distance of 32 metres.
This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection works. The Order becomes effective on 26th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 29th September 2025 and last until 3rd October 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 5 days. Statement of Reasons for making the Order 
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
