CORPORATION STREET AND BLUE BOAR LANE, ROCHESTER: WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES

NOTICE OF MAKING

The Medway Council (Rochester) (Parking Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.25) Order 2025

The Medway Council (Prescribed Routes) (Corporation Street and Blue Boar Lane) (No.2) Order 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 9 September 2025 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 1, 2, 4 32, 35, 37, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders, which come into operation on 15 September 2025 will be to:

(a) remove the ‘single yellow line’ waiting restrictions and R1 permit holder parking places in Blue Boar Lane between Corporation Street and the railway bridge;

(b)  introduce new lengths of ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions in the remaining lengths of Blue Boar Lane between Corporation Street and the railway bridge:

(c) prevent all motor vehicles proceeding in Corporation Street (A2) from entering Blue Boar Lane, except for access; and

(d) prevent all motor vehicles from entering that part of Blue Boar Lane that extends between 67.9 metres south-east of the north-east kerb-line of the southbound carriageway of Corporation Street (A2), and 88.9 metres southeast of that kerb-line.

3. Copies of the Order and associated documents can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

4.  Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
