What is happening?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF CHUTE PATH NO.18 DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above order was made on 21st August 2025. The effect of the order will be to divert the public footpath known as Chute 18 from Malthouse Lane, Upper Chute, SP11 9ER, leading from OS Grid Reference SU 2951 -5387 in a north easterly direction for approximately 100 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 2958 5394, to a new route leading from Malthouse Lane, SP11 9ER at OS Grid Reference SU 2955 5387 in a northerly direction and then east and then north to SU 2958 5394, a total distance of approximately 105 metres and the path having a width of 3 metres.

Thereupon The Pewsey Rural District Council Area Definitive Map and Statement dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly.

Any representation about or objection to the order may be sent in writing to Craig Harlow, at the above postal address or email craig.harlow@wiltshire.gov.uk not later than 17:00 on 3rd October 2025. Please state the grounds on which it is made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Wiltshire Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
