What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Widdington Road (Part), Upavon; from its junction with A342 for a distance of approximately 180m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out tree cutting. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 29 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. B) C249 (Part), Devizes; from its junction with UC 016301 for a distance of approximately 150m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out masonry works to install a new gully and other associated works. Alternative route via C249 (unaffected length) - A361 - A342 -C249 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 3 days. This Order will come into operation on 01 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. H) Church Farm Lane (Part), Woodborough; from its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 26m in an easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out section 81 defect, repair/ replace cover and frame and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 29 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 days. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 09 September 2025 and the closure will be required until 06 October 2025. This Order will come into operation on 11 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. Alternative route via Fairford Road to South Leaze Cottage Meysey Hampton - A417 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 89, Purton; from its junction with Restrop Road to its junction with Footpath 90, Purton to enable planning permission and building of new housing development. Alternative route via Footpath 90, Purton - Restrop Road and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This closure which follows an emergency notice will come into operation on 09 September 2025 and the closure will be required for until 01 December 2025.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council made the above-mentioned Experimental Orders on 27 August 2025 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"). The Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months and during that time consideration will be given to introducing permanent Orders. The effect of the Experimental Orders will be as follows; Order 1 - To revoke The County of Wiltshire (High Street, Calne) (Weight Restriction) Experimental Order 2025 and introduce a 3.5 tonne weight limit on High Street, Calne - from its junction with Wood Street to its junction with A4 Curzon Street. Order 2 -To introduce a 9.9 metre length restriction on High Street, Calne - from its junction with Wood Street to its junction with A4 Curzon Street. A copy of the Experimental Orders, plan and Statement of the Council's Reasons for making the Experimental Orders may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours and details of the proposed scheme may also be seen at Calne Library, The Strand, Calne during the hours of 10am-7pm Monday, 9.30am-5pm Tuesday and Thursday, 9.30am-7pm Friday and 9.30am-4pm Saturday. Any person aggrieved by the Experimental Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
