Pease Close Lane, Ayside - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(U5191 AND PEASE CLOSE LANE, AYSIDE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road;
U5191 Ayside, from its junction with Pease Close Lane, extending in an easterly direction for a distance of approx. 160 metres.
There is no suitable Alternative Route available for vehicles.
Pease Close Lane, Ayside, from a point approx. 125 metres south east of its junction with the A590, extending in a south easterly then south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 530 metres.
Alternative Route for South East Bound vehicles: Via the unrestricted sections of Pease Close Lane, A590, Back Lane, C5041 and the U5189.
Alternative Route for North East Bound vehicles: Via the unrestricted sections of Pease Close Lane, U5189, C5041, Back Lane, A590, C5109 and the U5190.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 24th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 nights between the hours of 18:00 and 00:00 and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
