What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (GATESHEAD STADIUM ACCESS ROADS - SUMMERTIME FESTIVAL 2025) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from Waiting, Loading or Stopping At Any Time, and proceeding along the roads as set out in the Schedules below.

The order is required to facilitate public safety of attendees and the public during the staging of the Summertime Festival Event at Gateshead Stadium. It is proposed that the Order will come into force on the 26 September 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months, however the prohibition period is expected to be completed by the 27 September 2025. During the prohibition period all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the event, emergency service vehicles on duty vehicles associated with the event, authorised taxis and Gateshead Council call out operatives) will be prohibited from Waiting, Loading or Stopping at Any Time and proceeding along the roads as set out in the Schedules below until the prohibition period is complete or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibitions there will be signed diversions in place.
