Cumberland, Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2007 ELLERBECK BROW, COCKERMOUTH AND C2023 OUGHTERSIDE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. C2007 Ellerbeck Brow, Cockermouth from its junction with the A66, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 320m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2007 Ellerbeck Brow, High Brigham, Stan Lonning, Brigham and the A66.
Duration: From 22 September 2025 for approx. 6 days (Ref TTROC/16093)
2. C2023 Oughterside, from its junction with the U2085, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 260m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2023, C2024 Gilcrux Road and the A596.
Duration: from 27 October 2025 for 12 days between 0700 and 1900 hours, each day. (Ref: TTROC/15858)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 22 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
