What is happening?

THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL (B970 FROM INSH TO JUNCTION WITH RUTHVEN ROAD AT A9T UNDERPASS, KINGUSSIE – BT WORKS) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that on 8 September 2025 The Highland Council made an Order in terms of Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and titled as above. The Order has been made to allow BT contractors to safely undertake essential works on their network. This Order shall be in operation from Monday 15 September 2025 until Friday 3 October 2025 (from 0700 hours on Mondays to 1900 hours on Fridays), excluding weekends. During this period the use by vehicles on the length of road specified in the schedule hereto is prohibited.

A copy of the Order can be viewed at the Kingussie Service Point, Kingussie Courthouse, High Street, Kingussie PH21 1HR, 9:30am to 12:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 1:30pm to 4:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

SCHEDULE

This is the schedule referred to in the foregoing Order entitled " The Highland Council (B970 From Insh To Junction With Ruthven Road At A9t Underpass, Kingussie, Highland – BT Works) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025’’

Length of Road to be Closed – B970: Commencing at a point 2.5 kilometres or thereby east of its junction with the A86 and extending for a distance of 5 kilometres or thereby in a generally easterly direction.

From Monday 15 September 2025 until Friday 3 October 2025, the closure will be in place from 0700 hours on Mondays until 1900 hours on Fridays. The road will be reopened on weekends.

Traffic management and signed diversions will be in place. Access for local residents within the closure extents as well as emergency access will be maintained.

This Order is applicable to pedestrians and cyclists as well as vehicles.
