Lingards Road - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
KIRKLEES COUNCIL (LINGARDS ROAD, SLAITHWAITE, HUDDERSFIELD AND TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON MANCHESTER ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 AND (TEMPORARY REDUCTION OF SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Lingards Road, Slaithwaite from its junction with Manchester Road to its junction with Neilds Road nor at a speed in excess of 10 mph in that length of Manchester Road from its junction with Neilds Road to its junction with Slaithwaite Road going east PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Neilds Road, Manchester Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 15 September 2025 and will remain in force until 10 October 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
