Walmer Street, Moss Side Ward - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Replacement Gas Mains

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC145120299: The City of Manchester (Walmer Street, Moss Side Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Walmer Street From Heald Place to Heald Grove. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Heald Grove, Great Western Street, Heald Place. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Replacement gas mains. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 8th September 2025 to 26th October 2025. The order shall come into operation on 8th September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 

ORDER NO. MCC000144809794: The City of Manchester (Dale Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary No waiting and No Loading) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict vehicular traffic from Paton Street to China Lane. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate from Paton Street to China Lane. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 8th September 2025 to 12th September 2025. The order shall come into operation on 8th September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If the restriction ends within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
