Various Locations, Newton - Temporary Prohibition of Driving To Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS LOCATIONS, NEWTON, GUNTHORPE AND LOWDHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (N25 292)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Newton, Gunthorpe and Lowdham in the Borough of Gedling.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from Proceeding in the following length of road
a. Bypass Road, Newton - From its junction with East Bridgford Road, Newton to its junction with Manor Lane, Shelford
b. Gunthorpe Bridge, Gunthorpe - From its junction with Manor Lane, Shelford to its junction with Bye pass Road, Gunthorpe
c. Bye pass Road, Gunthorpe - From its junction with Gunthorpe Bridge, Gunthorpe to its junction with Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe
d. Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe - From its junction with Bye pass Road, Gunthorpe to its junction with Lowdham Road, Lowdham
e. Lowdham Road, Lowdham - From its junction with Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe to its junction with Lowdham Roundabout, Lowdham.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00 hours until 06:00 hours only.
From Monday 15th September until Saturday 18th October 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
A6097 Bridgford Street - A46 - A52 - A6011 Radcliffe Road - Lady Bay Bridge - Meadow Lane - A612 Daleside Road - A612 Colwick Loop Road - A612 Nottingham Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on 15th September 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out resurfacing works;
