What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

A2 West Street, Sittingbourne, ME10 1AJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2 West Street, Sittingbourne, from 21st September 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Dover Street and Park Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Park Road, Albany Road, Avenue of Remembrance, Bell Road, Crown Quay Lane, St Michaels Road and A2 Dover Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

This closure is in conjunction with an eastbound lane closure on Dover Street.

 

Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne, ME10 1BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow water mains repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne, from 17th September 2025, with estimated completion by 19th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 122, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chalkwell Road, Staplehurst Road Roundabout, B2006 St Pauls Street, Millen Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Claxfield Road, Lynsted, ME9 0RL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Claxfield Road, Lynsted, from 17th September 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Wood Street and Lynsted Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road, Claxfield Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Dane Lane, Hartlip. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Dane Lane, Hartlip from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 5th October 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Munns Lane and Place Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Place Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Four Oaks Road, Faversham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Four Oaks Road, Faversham, from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 2nd October 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Four Oaks Road, A2 London Road, Lower Norton Lane, Lower Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Godwin Close, Sittingbourne, ME10 2GJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Godwin Close, Sittingbourne from 15th September 2025, with estimated completion by 20th September 2025 between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 11, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mount Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7XL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mount Lane, Hartlip, from 15th September 2025, with estimated completion by 19th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with The Street and Lower Hartlip Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Munns Lane, Lower Hartlip Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Place Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7TG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Place Lane, Hartlip, from 20th September 2025, with estimated completion by 24th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with The Street and Dane Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dane Lane, The Street, Place Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Richmond Street, Sheerness, ME12 2QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Richmond Street, Sheerness, from 18th September 2025, with estimated completion by 19th September 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Clyde Street and Unity Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Marine Parade, Berridge Road, Winstanley Road, St Helen’s Road, Richmond Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ruins Barn Road, Tunstall, ME10 4HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ruins Barn Road, Tunstall from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 1st October 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 40, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ruins Barn Road, Bexon Lane, The Street, Primrose Lane, Bredgar Road, Tunstall Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ruins Barn Road, Tunstall, ME9 8AA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ruins Barn Road, Tunstall from 3rd October 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Oakwood Farm Cottages and Oakwood House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ruins Barn Road, Bexon Lane, The Street, Primrose Lane, Bredgar Road, Tunstall Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Leas, Minster-on-sea, ME12 2JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Leas, Minster-on-sea from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 1st October 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Minster Drive and Seaside Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Leas, Seaside Avenue, Wardhill Road, The Broadway and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Wises Lane, Borden, ME9 8LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wises Lane, Borden from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 3rd October 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Wises Cottage and the junction with The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, Borden Lane, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
