What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL

(BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT AUDITION)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to. The effect of the Order will be to:

(a)   Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Church Street from its junction with Leopold Grove to its junction with Abingdon Street.

(b)   Prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Abingdon Street from its junction with Birley Street to its junction with Church Street.

(c)    Temporarily suspend the use of the pay and display parking bays, and the dual use bays relating to taxis and loading along the length of the one-way carriageway for northbound traffic on Topping Street from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Deansgate.

The restrictions will apply during the hours of 10:00-23:00 only. Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained wherever possible. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.

The proposed Order will commence on 9 October 2025 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the likelihood of danger to the public is diminished. It is expected that the likelihood of danger attributed to the event will be 10 days.
