Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A274 North Street, Sutton Valence, ME17 3EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY 20MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of A274 North Street, Sutton Valence, on or after 15th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

A274 North Street will be closed outside Haven Farm, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The speed limit on A274 North Street will be reduced to 20mph between the Village Hall and Haven Close. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Brishing Lane, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4NG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brishing Lane, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 18th September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from property named Willow Cottage to property named The Oast. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brishing Lane, Wallis Avenue, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, Brishing Lane and vice versa.

 

Brunswick Street & Brunswick Street East, Maidstone, ME15 6EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Brunswick Street and Brunswick Street East, Maidstone, on or after 2nd October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

Brunswick Street will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Upper Stone Street, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic from Brunswick Street to Upper Stone Street is via Brunswick Street, Priory Road, A249 Knightrider Street, A229 Mill Street, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street and A229 Upper Stone Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic from Upper Stone Street to Brunswick Street is A229 Upper Stone Street, George Street, Orchard Street and Brunswick Street.

Brunswick Street East will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Upper Stone Street, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic from Brunswick Street East to Upper Stone Street is Brunswick Street East, Melville Road, A249 Mote Road and A229 Upper Stone Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic from Upper Stone Street to Brunswick Street East is A229 Upper Stone Street, Waterloo Street, Kingsley Road and Brunswick Street East.

 

Bull Lane, Stockbury, ME9 7UB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bull Lane, Stockbury, on or after 30th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Walnut Tree Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cowstead Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Yelsted Road, Hill Green Road, Bull Lane and vice versa.

 

Cambridge Crescent, Maidstone, ME15 7NZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water pipe works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cambridge Crescent, Maidstone, on or after 15th September 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Peterborough House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.

 

Couchman Green Lane, Staplehurst, TN12 0RS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Couchman Green Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 2nd October 2025 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Couchman Green Lane, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Station Road, Headcorn Road, Couchman Green Lane and vice versa.

 

East Sutton Hill, East Sutton, ME17 3AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow a new gas connection to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of East Sutton Hill, East Sutton, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Parsonage Farm.  To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via East Sutton Hill, Charlton Lane, Chartway Street, A274 North Street, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Maidstone Road, East Sutton Road, East Sutton Hill and vice versa.

 

East Sutton Road, Headcorn, ME17 3DY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of East Sutton Road, Headcorn, on or after 17th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Windy Ridge. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via East Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Mill Bank, Kings Road, Lenham Road, Crumps Lane, Stickfast Lane and vice versa.

 

Gore Court Road, Maidstone, ME15 8FZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Gore Court Road, Maidstone, on or after 30th September 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 74. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gore Court Road, Buffkyn Way, A274 Sutton Road, Gore Court Road and vice versa.

 

Grave Lane, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grave Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 18th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Clapper Lane to Clarendon Barn. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Clapper Lane, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, Summerhill Road, Grave Lane and vice versa.

 

Harp Farm Road, Boxley, ME14 3EE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harp Farm Road, Boxley, on or after 15th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Westfield Sole, for a distance of approximately 450 metres in a South direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Harp Farm Road, Boxley Road, Walderslade Woods Roundabout, Westfield Sole Road, Lidsing Road, Harp Farm Road and vice versa.

 

Hunt Street & B2010 Smiths Hill, West Farleigh, ME15 0PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Hunt Street & B2010 Smiths Hill, West Farleigh, on or after 20th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

Hunt Street will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with B2010 Smiths Hill, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2010 Smiths Hill will be closed from the junction with B2163 Ewell Lane to the junction with Shingle Barn Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2010 Smiths Hill, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, A229 Linton Hill, A229 Staplehurst Road, B2079 Maidstone Road, Underlyn Lane, Green Lane, B2162 Collier Street, B2162 Benover Road, B2010 High Street, B2010 Yalding Hill, B2010 Smiths Hill and vice versa.

 

Lovehurst Lane, Staplehurst, TN12 0EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lovehurst Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 18th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Chittenden House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lovehurst Lane, A229 Cranbrook Road, Pinnock Lane, Goudhurst Road, Cork Lane, Lovehurst Lane and vice versa.

 

Moat Road, Headcorn, TN27 9NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas main works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Moat Road, Headcorn, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Moat House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A274 Mill Bank, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Headcorn Road, New Barn Road, Four Oaks Road, Plumtree Road, Summerhill, Moat Road and vice versa.

 

Plain Road, Marden (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Plain Road, Marden, on or after 2nd October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Poulters Hall. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Plain Road, Albion Road, Howland Road, B2079 High Street, B2079 Church Green, B2079 West End, B2079 Goudhurst Road, Plain Road and vice versa.

 

Rumstead Lane, Hucking (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rumstead Lane, Hucking, on or after 17th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 230m South West of the junction with Rumstead Road, for a distance of approximately 150 metres in a South direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rumstead Road, Old Forge Lane, South Lees Lane, Admiral Road, Church Road, Hook Lane, Rumstead Lane and vice versa.

 

West Street, Hunton, ME15 0RN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow overhead cable works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of West Street, Hunton, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of South Lodge. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Street, Hunton Hill, Upper Hunton Hill, B2163 Heath Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2010 Smiths Hill, B2010 Yalding Hill, Vicarage Road, West Street and vice versa.

 

Yelsted Road, Yelsted, ME9 7QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Yelsted Road, Yelsted, on or after 3rd October 2025 for up to 22 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of South Street Road to the junction with Lower Hartlip Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Yelsted Road, Lower Hartlip Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, A2 High Street, A2 Keycol Hill, Key Street Roundabout, A249 Key Street Slip Southbound on, A249 From J A2 to M2 off slip S, A249 from M2 J5 off slip to end of Stockbury slip on S, A249  Sittingbourne Road, Aerodrome Approach (Service Road) and Bimbury Lane.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 from J M2 J5 on slip to J A2 N, A249 J A2 Leave N, Key Street Roundabout, A2 Keycol Hill, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, Lower Hartlip Road and Yelsted Road.
