Cowen Road/chainbridge Road Blaydon - Temporarily Prohibit Any Vehicles to Facilitate Works for the Installation of a New Power Supply
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (COWEN ROAD/CHAINBRIDGE ROAD BLAYDON) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any vehicles from:-
1. proceeding into the layby on the west of Chainbridge Road starting at a point 87 metres north of the signalised junction with Shibdon Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 65 metres,
2. waiting, loading or stopping along Cowen Road from the junction with Shibdon Road in an easterly direction for a distance of 210 metres.
The Order is required to facilitate works for the installation of a new power supply.
It is proposed that the Order will come into force on the 22 September 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by the 16 November 2025.
During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding, and waiting, stopping or loading on the sections of road described above until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
