Alton Road, Cobble Mews Alton Place, Chester Place, North Hill - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving For Gas Main Works

What is happening?

PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH (ALTON ROAD, COBBLE MEWS ALTON PLACE, CHESTER PLACE, NORTH HILL) 
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Plymouth City Council acting under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), intend to make an Order the effect of which is:

1. To prohibit the driving, parking, waiting, loading & unloading of vehicles in:

- Alton Road - at the junction of North Hill

- Cobble Mews - at the junction of North Hill

- Alton Place - at the junction of North Hill

- Chester Place - at the junction of North Hill

- North Hill - no right hand turns onto Alexandra Road and Greenbank Road

The prohibition of driving will be in operation on the days and during the hours that the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The Order shall come into force on 6th October 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum of 18 months

It is anticipated that the phased gas main works will commence on the 6th October 2025 until 4th November 2025 24hrs
