What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(WORSWICK STREET) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 4 September 2025 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Worswick Street for its entire length.

2. The alternative route will be signed on site as required.

3. The Order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.

4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles and persons engaged in the works and police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.

5. The Order will come into operation on 9 September 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
