TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS FOOTWAYS
NAILSWORTH TOWN, STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the footways as detailed in the Schedule below.

The said footways are expected to be closed on a rolling programme, commencing 8th September 2025, where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the said closure is in force. Further advance warnings of the dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closure taking effect. This intended Order may permit the said closures in any order, or simultaneously as required, and it is anticipated all works will be completed by 19th September 2025. Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 405853 Shortwood Road from the property known as “3 Walkley Wood Cottage” to outside the property known as “Glenmar” for a distance of approximately 80 metres.
The reason for the said closure is due to drainage and highway renewal works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 08:00hrs on 10th September 2025 until 17:00hrs on 12th September 2025 only or until the said works have been completed.

The reason for the said lane closure is for works to renew a gas pipe.

The said road is currently closed for 5 days by Notice which commenced on the 27th August 2025. It was not possible to give advance planning due to the safety risk and it has now been necessary to make an Order. This Order can be made for up to 18 months from the date it comes into force and it is anticipated that the road may remain closed until 30th September 2025, or until the works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
