Thwaite Street Level Crossing - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Enable the Proposed Rail Inspections Works
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
THWAITE STREET LEVEL CROSSING, COTTINGHAM (PART) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Thwaite Street Level Crossing, Cottingham (20 metres either side of the crossing). The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed rail inspections works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within the given time.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Thwaite Street, Newgate Street, King Street, Northgate, New Village Road, Thwaite Street Roundabout, Cottingham. The road will be closed to all through traffic but will remain open for emergency services only.
The Order will commence 23.55 hrs Monday 15 September 2025 until 05.30 hrs Tuesday 16 September 2025, continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
