Trunk Road, Permanent Closure Of Gap In Central Reservation

What is happening?

THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (MALTON DUALS) (PROHIBITION OF USE OF GAP IN THE CENTRAL RESERVATION) ORDER 202x

National Highways Limited hereby gives notice that it intends to make an Order under sections 1(1), 2(1), and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A64 Trunk Road between Musley Bank and Brambling Fields, in the District of Ryedale.

The effect of the Order would be to permanently close the gap in the central reservations of the A64 from:

(i) approximately 255 metres East of the Rainbow overbridge;

A copy of the proposed draft Order, a plan illustrating the proposal and a statement explaining why National Highways reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at Malton Town Council, The Wesley Centre, 10-12 Saville Street, Malton, YO17 7LL and Malton Library, St Michaels Street, Malton, YO17 7LJ or may be seen at or obtained by application from the office of the Director, Operations Directorate (Yorkshire & North East), National Highways, 2 City Walk, Leeds, LS11 9AR.

Any person wishing to object to National Highways proposal to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and of the grounds thereof to the Director at the above address. The objection should quote the above title and must be received not later than 19 September 2025. Information provided in response to this consultation, including personal information, may be subject to publication or disclosure in accordance with the access to information regimes (these are primarily the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004).
