NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BRIERLEY ROAD, FOUR OAKS ROAD, TRAMWAY LANE AND WALTON SUMMIT ROAD, BAMBER BRIDGE, SOUTH
RIBBLE BOROUGH) (REVOCATION, PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 26 August 2025 Lancashire County Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1,
2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the “Lancashire County Council (South Ribble Area) (On Street Parking Places, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting)
Consolidation Order 2009” insofar as it relates to:
a) Items (213)a) and (213)c) of Schedule 10.01;
b) Item (10) of Schedule 13.01.
2. Introduce a prohibition of waiting in the following lengths of road:
a) Brierley Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, both sides, from its roundabout junction with Four Oaks Road for a
distance of 34 metres in a north westerly direction;
b) Four Oaks Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, both sides, from its roundabout junction with Brierley Road/Tramway
Lane for a distance of 36 metres in a north easterly direction;
c) Tramway Lane, Bamber Bridge, both sides, from its roundabout junction with Four Oaks Road for a distance of 31 metres in a south
easterly direction;
d) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the north west side, from a point 28 metres south west of its
junction with the projected centreline of Seedlee Road for a distance of 43 metres in a north easterly direction;
e) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the north west side, from its roundabout junction with Church
Road for a distance of 195 metres in a north easterly direction;
f) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 37 metres south west of its
junction with the projected centreline of Reedfield Place to its roundabout junction with Preston Road;
g) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 30 metres north east of its
junction with the centreline of Seedlee Road for a distance of 59 metres in a south westerly direction.
3. Introduce a prohibition of loading and unloading in the following lengths road;
a) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the north west side, from a point 28 metres south west of its
junction with the projected centreline of Seedlee Road for a distance of 43 metres in a north easterly direction;
b) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the north west side, from its roundabout junction with Church
Road for a distance of 195 metres in a north easterly direction;
c) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 37 metres south west of its
junction with the projected centreline of Reedfield Place to its roundabout junction with Preston Road;
d) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 30 metres north east of its
junction with the centreline of Seedlee Road to its junction with Seedlee Road.
4. Introduce a restriction waiting Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm in the following lengths of road:
a) Brierley Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the north east side, from a point 15 metres south east of its junction with
the centreline of Newfield Road for a distance of 73 metres in a south easterly direction;
b) Brierley Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the north east side, from a point 61 metres north west of its junction with
the centreline of Dawson Place to a point 34 metres north west of its roundabout junction with Four Oaks Road;
c) Brierley Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south west side, from a point 15 metres south east of its junction
with the centreline of Newfield Road for a distance of 44 metres in a south easterly direction;
d) Brierley Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south west side, from a point 34 metres north west of its roundabout
junction with Four Oaks Road for a distance of 137 metres in a north westerly direction;
e) Tramway Lane, Clayton-le-Woods, both sides, from a point 31 metres south east of its roundabout junction with Four Oaks Road to a
point 72 metres east of its junction with the centreline of The Old Tramway;
f) Tramway Lane, Clayton-le-Woods, the south west side, from its junction with the centreline of Clayton Brook Road for a distance of
197.5 metres in a north westerly direction;
g) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 179 metres south west of its
junction with the centreline of Brierley Road to a point 30 metres north east of its junction with the centreline of Seedlee Road;
h) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 42 metres south west of its
junction with the centreline of Brierley Road for a distance of 23 metres in a south westerly direction;
i) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 100 metres south west of its
junction with the centreline of Brierley Road for a distance of 44 metres in a south westerly direction.
5. Introduce a restriction of loading and unloading Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm in the following lengths of road:
a) Brierley Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the north east side, from a point 15 metres south east of its junction with
the centreline of Newfield Road for a distance of 73 metres in a south easterly direction;

junction with Four Oaks Road for a distance of 137 metres in a north westerly direction;
d) Brierley Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south west side, from a point 15 metres south east of its junction
with the centreline of Newfield Road for a distance of 44 metres in a south easterly direction;
e) Tramway Lane, Clayton-le-Woods, both sides, from a point 31 metres south east of its roundabout junction with Four Oaks Road to a
point 72 metres east of its junction with the centreline of The Old Tramway;
f) Tramway Lane, Clayton-le-Woods, the south west side, from its junction with the centreline of Clayton Brook Road for a distance of
197.5 metres in a north westerly direction;
g) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 42 metres south west of its
junction with the centreline of Brierley Road for a distance of 23 metres in a south westerly direction;
h) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 179 metres south west of its
junction with the centreline of Brierley Road to a point 30 metres north east of its junction with the centreline of Seedlee Road;
i) Walton Summit Road, Walton Summit Industrial Estate, Bamber Bridge, the south east side, from a point 100 metres south west of its
junction with the centreline of Brierley Road for a distance of 44 metres in a south westerly direction.
This Order will come into force on the 08 September 2025. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during
normal office hours at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council, Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, PR25 1DH, and at the offices of The
Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, PO Box 100, Preston PR1 0LD, and on Lancashire County Councils

that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
