Suffolk, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE C566 FROM THE U5249 TO THE U5218, MENDLESHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C566 from the U5249 to the U5218, Mendlesham to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Stowmarket Road, Old Station Road, Front Street, Church Road, Brockford Road, the road from the C566 to the A140, the A140, Debenham Road, the road from the C566 to the parish border, the road from the C409 to the 5249, the C566 from the U5249 to the U5218 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 03/09/2025 - 05/09/2025 from 8am - 5pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6417 HIGH STREET, THENEITHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U6417 High Street, Theneitham from the junction with Weston Road for 200 metres northbound to facilitate underground communication works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be High Street, Church Lane, Tuflen Lane, Weston Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 03/09/2025 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3201 LEXINGTON LANE, BUCKLESHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3201 Lexington Lane, Bucklesham from the junction with Fox View for 30 metres south westbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Main Road, Brightwell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 03/09/2025 - 08/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A140 VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. the A140 The Street, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford from Cedars Hill, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford to Norwich Road, Thwaite

  2. the A140 Norwich Road, Thwaite

  3. the A140 Norwich Road, Stoke Ash

  4. the A140 Ipswich Road, Stoke Ash

  5. the A140 Norwich Road, Braiseworth

  6. the A140 Ipswich Road, Thorham Parva

  7. the A140 Norwich Road, Brome and Oakley

  8. the A140 Norwich Road, Stuston

  9. the A140 from the A14 to the A143, Stuston.

This is to facilitate lining and associated works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A140, the A14, the A134, the A143, the A140 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

    1. 12/09/2025 - 16/09/2025 from 8pm - 5am

    1. 12/09/2025 - 16/09/2025 from 8pm - 5am

    1. 15/09/2025 - 17/09/2025 from 8pm - 5am.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1124 BECCLES ROAD, SOTHERTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1124 Beccles Road, Sotherton from 900 metres west of the junction with Strawberry Lane for 346 metres westbound to facilitate rectifying defective carriageway reinstatement.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A145, the B1123 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 03/09/2025 - 04/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C428 DRINKSTONE ROAD AND THE U4930 CANGLES LANE, DRINKSTONE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • C428 Drinkstone Road, Drinkstone from the junction with Cangles Lane for 27 metres southbound and 50 metres northbound

  • U4930 Cangles Lane, Drinkstone from the junction with Drinkstone Road for 40 metres westbound.

This is to facilitate access to an overhead structure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Drinkstone Road, Beyton Road, Church Road, the roads bounding Beyton Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11/09/2025 - 12/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C365 STONEY ROAD, GRUNDISBURGH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C365 Stoney Road, Grundisburgh from Folly Cottage to Ford House to facilitate fibre network installation. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Green, Woodbridge Road, Grundisburgh Road, Market Hill, Stoney Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 12/09/2025 - 19/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
