Kingston Road - Temporary Banned Right Turn
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Kingston Road) (Temporary Banned Right Turn) No.152) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 21st September 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY BANNED RIGHT TURN
KINGSTON ROAD (SOUTHBOUND)
Into Sultan Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate bus shelter upgrade works outside No. 26 Kingston Road.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 21st September 2025 to 23rd September 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place overnight from Sunday to Tuesday from 20:00 to 06:00 on each night.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Kingston Road, Fratton Road, Lake Road, Lake Road Roundabout, Church Street and New Road, Ernest Road, Shakespeare Road, St Marys Road, Kingston Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
