TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
LOVELL ROAD, OAKLEY 25 – 067
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Lovell Road, Oakley.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate de-scaling, Metal work repairs and rust prevention treatment and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 17:00 hours 5th October 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Lovell Road, Station Road, Highfield Road, Milton Road, Oakley Road.
The reverse route applies.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 5th October 2025, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
ROISE STREET, BEDFORD 25 – 066
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Roise Street, Bedford.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate gas mains replacement and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 29th September 2025 to 10th October 2025
Access will be maintained for residents. The proposed Order will come into operation on 29th September 2025, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. Bedford Borough Council has received a request for some new parking restrictions in Marina Court, Kempston. The proposal below is aimed at helping to maintain visibility and safety in this road.
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following length of road:

Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce a double yellow line restriction (No waiting at any time) on the following lengths of road:

(i) | On its north side, extending from a point approx. 16 metres west of the projected centre of Highfield Road, for a distance of approx. 34 metres in an easterly direction. |
(ii) | On its south side, extending from a point approx. 15 metres west of the centre of Highfield Road (the end of the existing double yellow line parking restriction) for a distance of approx. 4 metres in a westerly direction. |

Reason for Proposal:
As part of the Town Deal, Bedford Borough Council proposes highway improvement works in Midland Road, Bedford. This will entail relocating loading bays and revising loading and waiting restrictions.
Effect of the Order.
1. To revoke all existing waiting and loading restrictions and loading bays, and replace with the following:-
“No waiting at any time” restrictions (double yellow lines) and “No loading at any time” restrictions (double kerb blips) on the following lengths of road:

Effect of the Order:
To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:
A Montgomery Close, Stewartby
(i) On the south-eastern side of its south-eastern leg, extending from a point approx. 24.5 metres north-east of the projected boundary between properties nos. 147 and 148 Montgomery Close in a north-easterly direction to its junction with Kitchener Close.
(ii) On the north-western side of its south-eastern leg, extending from a point approx. 24.5 metres north-east of the projected boundary between properties nos. 147 and 148 Montgomery Close, in a north-easterly direction, then around the roundabout in a north-westerly direction, and then in a southwesterly direction to a point on the south-eastern side of its north-western leg approx. 7.5 metres north-east of the projected boundary between properties nos. 129 and 130 Montgomery Close.
(iii) On its north-eastern kerb, extending from the projected boundary between properties nos. 138 and 139 Montgomery Close in a north-westerly direction to its junction with Rousbury Road.
(iv) On the north-western side of its north-western leg, extending in a northerly direction from a point approx. 7.5 metres north-east of the projected boundary between properties nos. 129 and 130 Montgomery Close to its junction with Rousbury Road.

(i) On both sides, from its junction with Montgomery Close extending in a northerly direction to a point approx. 2 metres south of the projected northwestern boundary of property no. 135 Montgomery Close.
C Kitchener Close
(i) On its south-west side, extending in a north-westerly direction from a point approx. 6 metres north-west of the projected boundary between properties nos. 140a and 140b Montgomery Close to its junction with Montgomery Close.
(ii) On its north-east side, extending in a north-westerly direction from a point approx. 6 metres north-west of the projected boundary between properties nos. 140a and 140b Montgomery Close for a distance of approx. 4.5 metres.

1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:
A Elizabeth Drive, Roxton
(i) On its east side, extending in a northerly direction from its junction with School Lane to a point approx. 9.5 metres north of its junction with Jubilee Road.
(ii) On its east side, extending from a point approx. 21.5 metres north of its junction with Jubilee Road in a northerly direction, continuing around the turning head at its northern end in an anti-clockwise direction, and then continuing on its west side in a southerly direction to a point approx.
45.5 metres north of the projected north side of Jubilee Road.
(iii) On its west side, extending in a southerly direction from a point approx. 27.5 metres north of the projected north side of Jubilee Road to a point approx. 16.5 metres south of the south side of Queens Gardens.
(iv) On its west side, extending in a southerly and then westerly direction from a point approx. 34.5 metres south of the south side of Queens Gardens, continuing on its north side to a point approx. 26.5 metres west of the eastern side of the eastern leg of Elizabeth Drive.
(v) On its north side, extending from a point approx. 32.7 metres west of the eastern side of the eastern leg of Elizabeth Drive for a distance of approx. 19 metres in a westerly direction.
(vi) On its north side, extending in a westerly then southerly (anti-clockwise) direction (continuing on its west side) from a point approx. 57.9 metres west of the eastern side of the eastern leg of Elizabeth Drive to its junction with School Lane.

(i) On its south side, extending from its junction with Elizabeth Drive for a distance of approx. 17 metres in an easterly direction.
(ii) On its south side, extending from a point approx. 28.5 metres east of its junction with Elizabeth Drive in an easterly and then northerly (anti-clockwise) direction (continuing on its east side) to a point approx. 35 metres south of its junction with Jubilee Road.
(iii) On its east side, extending in a southerly direction from a point approx.
6.5 metres south of its junction with Jubilee Road for a distance of approx. 9 metres.
(iv) On its west side, extending in a southerly and then westerly (clockwise) direction (continuing on its north side) from a point approx. 6.5 metres south of its junction with Jubilee Road to a point approx. 44.3 metres east of its junction with Elizabeth Drive.
(v) On its north side, extending from its junction with Elizabeth Drive for a distance of approx. 31.3 metres in an easterly direction.
C Queens Gardens, Roxton
(i) On its south side, extending from a point approx. 7 metres west of its junction with Elizabeth Drive in a westerly, then a southerly, westerly and northerly (clockwise) direction to a point on its western side approx. 3.5 metres north of the southern end of its western hammerhead.
(ii) On its north side, extending from a point approx. 7 metres west of its junction with Elizabeth Drive for a distance of approx. 3 metres in a westerly direction.
(iii) On its north side, extending from a point approx. 22 metres west of its junction with Elizabeth Drive for a distance of approx. 11.5 metres in a
westerly direction.
(iv) On its north side, extending from a point approx. 39.5 metres west of its junction with Elizabeth Drive for a distance of approx. 13 metres in a westerly direction.
(v) On its north side, extending from a point approx. 65.5 metres west of its junction with Elizabeth Drive in a westerly, then a northerly, westerly and southerly (clockwise then anti-clockwise) direction to a point on its western side approx. 5 metres south of the northern end of its western hammerhead.
D Jubilee Road, Roxton
(i) On its north side, extending in an easterly direction from a point approx.
8.3 metres east of its junction with Elizabeth Drive to its eastern end, then continuing in a southerly and then westerly (clockwise) direction to a point approx. 53.5 metres west of its western end, on its south side.
(ii) On its south side, extending from a point approx. 65.5 metres west of its eastern end for a distance of approx. 2.5 metres in a westerly direction.
Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 1st September 2025 or as soon as practicable after this date.
