What is happening?

BOURNEMOUTH, CHRISTCHURCH AND POOLE COUNCIL

(FOOTBALL STADIUM EVENT DAY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below.

The effect of this order will be to prohibit waiting and loading/unloading at the locations listed below, plus the traffic movement restrictions as listed below:

  • Thistlebarrow Road – both sides from its western-most junction with Littledown Avenue in a south-easterly direction to the boundary of the football stadium.

  • King’s Park Drive – both sides from its junction with Holdenhurst Road to a point 80m southeast of the extended south-eastern building line of the King’s Park Bowling Green Clubhouse.

  • All vehicles exiting the South Car Park onto King’s Park Drive will have to turn left on to King’s Park Drive only (a prohibition of the right turn at this junction), except coaches.

  • All vehicles using the one-way link road through King's Park from Ashley Road will have to turn right on to King’s Park Drive (a prohibition of the left turn at this junction).

These restrictions will be in operation on Match Days and Event Days on the dates indicated in Schedules A and B.

The Match Day restrictions in Schedule A will operate for three hours before and three hours after kick-off time.

The Event Day restrictions in Schedule B will operate from four hours before the event start time until one hour after the event’s finish time.

Further dates may apply to Schedule A and Schedule B if amended or additional AFC Bournemouth fixtures are programmed at the AFC Bournemouth Football Stadium, or if additional events are programmed at the AFC Bournemouth Football Stadium. Times will be notified on signs nearer the match date.

These measures are required to facilitate the passage of traffic. AFC Bournemouth will undertake the necessary arrangements. Access to property will remain. This Order will be operative from 3 October 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months from this date. The Council regrets any inconvenience to the public caused by these temporary prohibitions.
