What is happening?
(B6397 MAIN STREET, NEWSTEAD)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (B6397 Main Street, Newstead) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 7 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of One day between the hours of 11:00 and 18:00. The Order is required in the interests of road/public safety due to increased traffic attending the Newstead Sundials Festival.
When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of road/public safety, no person shall drive, or cause, or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B6397 at Main Street, Newstead.
The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the B6361, A6091, B6374 and Dean Road to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.

(C43 NORTHFIELD, ST BOSWELLS)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (C43 Northfield, St Boswells) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 8 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. The Order is required for BT works. When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the C43 at Northfield, St Boswells.
The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the C43, B6359, A699, A68 and C43 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. The Scottish Borders Council (C58 Lurdenlaw, Kelso) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 8 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. The Order is required for BT works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the C58 at Lurdenlaw, Kelso.
The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the C58, B6396, C58 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(THE LOAN, OXTON)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (The Loan, Oxton) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 07:00 on 8 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 17 September 2025. The Order is required for installation of new cabinet.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along The Loan, Oxton.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the C83, A68, C84, Station Road and C83 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. (BORDERFEST MUSIC FESTIVAL -GALASHIELS)
(TEMPORARY NO WAITING) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (Borderfest Music Festival - Galashiels) (Temporary No Waiting) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 18:00 on 12 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 22:00 on 14 September 2025 - 24 hour restriction. The Order is required in the interests of public safety due to increased traffic attending the Borderfest Music Festival taking place in Galashiels.
When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of public safety, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on both sides of the following roads in Galashiels:
(i) Croft Street – from Do uglas Place to the Public Park,
(ii) Abbotsford Road – from Douglas Place to Numberm 31 Abbotsford Road,
(iii) Tweed Road – from Abbotsford Road to Eastlands Road,
(iv) Eastlands Road – from Tweed Road to its termination, and
(v) Tweed Crescent – from Tweed Road southwards for 20 metres.

(ST JOHN STREET, GALASHIELS)
(TEMPORARY ONE WAY) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (St John Street, Galashiels) (Temporary One Way) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 07:00 on 8 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 3 October 2025. The Order is required for Scottish Borders Council Improvement Works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle in an easterly direction along St John Street, Galashiels from Scott Street to junction with St Andrew Street.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via
St John Street, Bank Street, Bank Street Brae, Livingstone Place and Scott Street, for southbound traffic via St John Street, Bank Street, Bank Street Brae, Livingstone Place and Scott Street to point of restriction.

(FORTHILL TERRACE, JEDBURGH)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (Forthill Terrace, Jedburgh) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 10 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 12 September 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 each day. The Order is required for resurfacing works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle; and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along Forthill Terrace, Jedburgh from the junction with Waterside Road to just past junction with Hume Place.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Waterside Road, Prior’s Road, Elliot Road, Forthill Terrace to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
