What is happening?

STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – (AS AMENDED)

LICHFIELD 10K 2025

VARIOUS ROADS IN THE COUNTY OF STAFFORDSHIRE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Staffordshire County Council will make an Order on the 2/9/25 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in those roads in the District of Lichfield that comprise the route of the Lichfield 10K running event as summarised below. Any vehicle being used in connection with the event; or being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purpose will be exempt from the restrictions contained in the Order.

The restrictions are necessary to maintain the safety of all participants and road users. No alternative routes are advised for affected traffic as the restrictions will only be effective for so long as is necessary for the participants to pass.

The Order will not at any time prevent access of pedestrians to properties situated on or adjacent to any road to which the order relates or to any properties only accessible to pedestrians from such a road.

Roads in the District of Lichfield covered the order are as follows:

A51 Western Bypass, Cross in Hand Lane, Farewell Lane, Lodge Lane, Shute Hitll, Ford Lane, Dark Lane, Abnalls Lane, Cyleway from Bird Street to A51 Western Bypass.

IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE ROADS WILL BE CLOSED FROM 09:00 HOURS. THE ROAD WILL RE-OPEN ONCE THE EVENT HAS CONCLUDED WHICH IS ANTICIPATED TO BE BY 13:00 HOURS.

The Order will come in to operation on the 14/9/25 and will remain in force until the event has concluded. The event is being organised by Lichfield Running Club.

A map showing all of the roads involved may be inspected during normal working hours at the office of the Director of Economy, Infrastructure and Skills, Highway Network Management, Third Floor, No. 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford. ST16 2LP.
