High Street - Temporary Road Closure To Lay New Gas Service

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of High Street

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along, High Street - from 28 metres north of the junction with Holmans, northwards for a total distance of 62 metres.

This Order will enable Wales & West Utilities to lay new gas service.

The Order becomes effective on 18th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 23rd September 2025 and last until 26th September 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 4 days.
