East End, Temporary Road Closure Due To Sewer Repair Wiorks

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Unc 44.5 East End, Sedgefield) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road a 24 metre length to the front of Numbers 9 to 14 East Parade and a 26 metre length to the front of Numbers 4 to 8 East Parade to enable sewer repair works to be undertaken.

Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from north side of closure in a northerly direction on East End then northwest on The Lane then south on C38 North End then east on C38 High Street/Front Street then north on East End to southern end of closure and vice versa.

The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence at 8am on 15/9/2025 and anticipated to be completed in 10 days. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
