Kirklees Area - Multiple Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Orders

What is happening?

KIRKLEES COUNCIL
(TRAFFIC REGULATION) (CONSOLIDATION ORDER PROVIDING ON-STREET PARKING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS AND MIGRATION TO A ‘MAP-BASED’ FORMAT) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO. 14) ORDER 2025 VARIOUS ROADS IN BATLEY AND DEWSBURY
The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects lengths of road in the Batley and Dewsbury areas of the Kirklees district, will be to:
(i) Prohibit the waiting of vehicles at any time on lengths of the following roads:-

  1. Bradford Road, Batley
    2. Bradford Road, Dewsbury
    3. Commercial Road, Dewsbury
    4. Greaves Road, Dewsbury
    5. Lower Peel Street, Dewsbury
    6. Upper South Street, Dewsbury
    7. Ward Street, Dewsbury
    8. North Street, Dewsbury
    9. Town Street, Batley
    10. Jack Lane, Batley
    11. Grafton Street, Batley
    12. Alexandra Road, Batley
    13. Mill Lane, Batley
    14. Grange Road Batley
    15. Rouse Mill Lane, Batley
    16. Back Station Road, Batley
    17. Mill Road, Dewsbury

(ii) Prohibit the waiting or loading and unloading of vehicles at any time on a length of the following roads:-

  1. Bradford Road, Batley
    2. Bradford Road, Dewsbury
    3. Carlton Road, Dewsbury
    4. Howard Street, Batley
    5. Rink Street, Batley
    6. Mount Street, Batley

(iii) Prohibit the waiting of vehicles at any time and prohibit the loading and unloading of vehicles between the hours of 07:00 – 10:00 & 16:00 – 19:00 (on all days) on lengths of the following roads:-

1. Bradford Road, Batley
2. Bradford Road, Dewsbury

(iv) To create loading bays, which will operate at all times on lengths of the following roads:-

  1. Commercial Road, Dewsbury,
    2. Upper South Street, Dewsbury
    3. Ward Street, Dewsbury 4.
    North Street, Dewsbury
    5. Howard Street, Batley
    6. Rink Street, Batley
    7. Mill Road, Dewsbury

(v) To prohibit the waiting of vehicles between the hours of 08:00 – 18:30 (Mondays to Saturdays) on lengths of the following roads:-

  1. Victoria Road, Dewsbury
  2. Upper South Street, Dewsbury

(vi) Modify the existing No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on lengths of the following roads:-

1.Mill Lane, Batley
2. Carlton Road, Dewsbury
3. Town Street, Batley
4. Ward Street, Dewsbury

5. Bradford Road, Batley
6. Bradford Road, Dewsbury
7. Alexandra Road, Batley

(viii) To revoke certain items in the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation)
(Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 which will be redundant when certain parts of the restrictions referred to above are introduced
