TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
Honingham, Dereham, Deopham, Kimberley and Carleton Forehoe, Ovington, Shipdham, Costessey, East Tuddenham, Easton, Saham Toney). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
BLO’ NORTON – Fen Road from 720m southwest of its junction with Middle Road for 432m westwards to facilitate overhead electrical cable replacement works between 09:30 and 16:00 on 3rd September 2025 (may continue until 15th October 2025). Alternative route is via: U33163 Thelnetham Road, U33164 Middle Road. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
BROOKE – C373 The Street from its junction with C203 Hunstead Lane for 200m north-eastwards to facilitate new duct and chamber installation works from 1st to 19th September 2025 (may continue until 31st October 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street. The works promoter is CityFibre.
COLNEY – C183 Colney Lane from its junction with B1108 Watton Road for 175m southwards to facilitate traffic light upgrade works from 30th August to 11th September 2025 (may continue until 23rd October 2025). Alternative route is via: Colney Lane, Round House Way, Newmarket Road, Mile End Road, Colman Road, Earlham Road, Watton Road (Colney, Cringleford, Norwich). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
COSTESSEY – C162 The Street from its junction with C171 Town House Road for 370m north-eastwards to facilitate installation of redipave splitter from 3rd to 5th September 2025 (may continue until 17th October 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Costessey Lane, Drayton High Road, Taverham Road, Costessey Road, Taverham Lane, West End (Drayton, Taverham, Costessey). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
GARVESTONE, REYMERSTON AND THUXTON – U35014 Mattishall Road from its junction with U35020 Brakefield Lane for 1500m northwards to facilitate carriageway patching works from 1st to 5th September 2025 (may continue until 17th October 2025). Alternative route is via: U35020 Brakefield Lane, U35018 Brakefield Green and vice versa (Garvestone, Reymerston and Thuxton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
GREAT MELTON – U78005 Hall Road from its junction with C169 Market Lane for 100m southwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 1st September 2025 (may continue until 13th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Hall Road, High Green, Melton Road, Pockthorpe Road, Landlow Lane, Watton Road. The works promoter is BT.
GREAT MOULTON – C509 High Green at its intersection with the level crossing for 10m westwards and 10m eastwards to facilitate track maintenance works between 22:00 and 06:00 from 30th to 31st August 2025 (may continue until 12th October 2025). Alternative route is via: High Green, Frith Way, Frosts Lane, Carr Lane, Woodrow Lane (Great Moulton, Aslacton). The works promoter is Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
LITTLE MELTON – U78135 Braymeadow Lane from its junction with C182 Colney Lane for 120m north-westwards to facilitate pole testing works on 2nd September 2025 (may continue until 14th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Braymeadow Lane, School Lane, Green Lane, Watton Road, Hethersett Lane (Colney, Bawburgh, Little Melton). The works promoter is BT.
LITTLE MELTON – 1) U78047 Little Melton Road from its junction with C770 Burnthouse Lane for 400m westwards and
2) Burnthouse Lane from its junction with C169 School Lane for 200m southwards to facilitate cabling works from 1st to 26th September 2025 (may continue until 26th March 2026). Alternative route is via: 1) Burnthouse Lane, Little Melton Road, Brickmakers Lane, Harness Maker Way, Coachmaker Way, Back Lane, Churchfields, Norwich Road, Colney Lane. 2) Colney Lane, Hethersett Lane, Watton Road, Green Lane, School Lane (Little Melton, Hethersett). The works promoter is BT.
NB: Road 1 will be closed from 1st to 17th September and Road 2 will be closed from 18th to 26th September.
NORTH ELMHAM & BEETLEY & HOE AND WORTHING & DEREHAM – B1146 Dereham Road/B1146 Holt Road/B1146 Quebec Road from its junction with B1145 Brisley Road to its junction with U30189 De Narde Road to facilitate cats eye rubber replacement works between 20:00 and 05:00 from 4th to 6th September 2025 (may continue until 18th October 2025). Alternative route is via: B1146 Quebec Road, C553 Wellington Road/Neatherd Road, U30113 Kings Road, C214 Swanton Road/Dereham Road, C888 Dereham Road/Greengate/Gooseberry Hill/Town Street/Mill Street, A1067 Fakenham Road, B1145 Billingford Road/Bawdeswell Road/The Street/Elmham Road/Station Road/Back Lane and vice versa (Bawdeswell, Billingford, North Elmham, Bylaugh, Dereham, Swanton Morley, Hoe and Worthing). REDENHALL WITH HARLESTON – C571 The Thoroughfare from its junction with C877 Swan Lane to its junction with U76536 Bullock Fair Close to facilitate blockage clearing works between 19:00 and 23:00 from 1st to 5th September 2025 (may continue until 17th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Clockwise – The Thoroughfare, Redenhall Road, A143 Harleston Bypass, High Road, Needham Road, London Road. Anti Clockwise – Loddon Road Needham Road, High Road, A143 Harleston Bypass, Redenhall Road, Broad Street, Church Street (Redenhall with Harleston, Needham). The works promoter is Openreach.
STOCKTON – C392 Bungay Road for 30m westwards from 755m west of its junction with A146 Norwich Road to facilitate new connection works from 1st to 5th September 2025 (may continue until 17th October 2025). Alternative route is via: School Road, Church Road, A143 Yarmouth Road, A146 Norwich Road (Stockton, Gillingham, Kirby Cane). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
SWAINSTHORPE – C179 Church Road from its junction with U78025 Swardeston Lane for 870m eastwards to facilitate construction works and to allow the movement of HGV vehicles. The road will be temporarily subject to a 20mph speed restriction from 1st September 2025 to 1st March 2026 (may continue until 28th February 2027). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
TASBURGH – U76002 Flordon Road from 150m north of its junction with U76001 Low Road for 50m northwards to facilitate drainage, new signage and kerbs works from 1st to 2nd September 2025 (may continue until 14th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Flordon Road, Tasburgh Hill, Station Road, Flordon Road, A140 Ipswich Road, Church Road, Grove Lane, Low Road (Flordon, Tasburgh, Saxlingham Nethergate, Newton Flotman). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
THETFORD – Station Road from 46m northwest of its junction with Millers Lane for 21m north westwards to facilitate new service connection works between 08:30 and 18:30 from 31st August to 2nd September 2025 (may continue until 14th October 2025). Alternative route is via: A134 Brandon Road, C587 London Road. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.

BURNHAM MARKET – Joan Shorts Lane from 260m east of its junction with B1355 Creake Road for 30m eastwards to facilitate air valve relocation works from 1st to 3rd September 2025 (may continue until 15th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Walsingham Road, Rectory Lane, Creake Road, Burnham Thorpe Road, Burnham Road (Burnham Market, North Creake, Burnham Thorpe). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
BURNHAM MARKET – B1355 Bellamys Lane from its junction with B1155 North Street for 100m northwards to facilitate patching works from 1st to 2nd September 2025 (may continue until 14th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Burnham Norton, Holkham, Burnham Market, Burnham Overy, Burnham Thorpe (North Street, Church Walk, Whiteway Road, A149 Main Road, Bellamys Lane). GRIMSTON – C72 Massingham Road from its junction with B1153 Grimston Road for 20m eastwards to facilitate works to patch carriageway damage from 1st to 2nd September 2025 (may continue until 14th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Massingham Road, Lynn Lane, Castle Acre Road, Drunken Drove, Litcham Road, Gayton Road, Grimston Road (Great Massingham, Gayton, Little Massingham, Grimston). HARPLEY – U22044 Short Lane from its junction U22008 Mill Road for 40m westwards to facilitate water meter exchange works between 08:00 and 17:00 on 2nd September 2025 (may continue until 14th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Mill Lane, Millers Lane, Nethergate Street, Weasenham Road, Crosses Grave To Old Gatehouse, Mill Road (Little Massingham, Harpley). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
HEACHAM – C103 Ringstead Road from 175m north of its junction with U22202 Ringstead Road for 30m northwards to facilitate installation of a new water connection from 3rd to 5th September 2025 (may continue until 17th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Ringstead Road, Sedgeford Road, Heacham Road (Heacham, Sedgeford, Ringstead). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
HOCKWOLD-CUM-WILTON – U21358 Church Lane from 40m southwest of its junction with C38 Main Street for 345m south westwards to facilitate pole installation works from 1st to 12th September 2025 (may continue until 24th October 2025). Alternative route is via: March Road, Welney Restricted Byway 11, New Road, Wisbech Road, Welney Road, Main Road, Ha Penny Toll Road, Upwell Road, Green Lane, Padgetts Road (Christchurch, Welney, Upwell). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WEREHAM — B1160 College Road from its junction with C32 West Dereham Road to its junction with C36 Broad Drove to facilitate carriageway works from 1st to 5th September 2025 (may continue until 17th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Decoy Road, Feltwell Road, Lynn Road, A10 Southery Bypass, A10 Lynn Road, Main Road, A10 Fordham Bypass, A10 Downham Eastern Bypass, Bexwell Road, Downham Road, Wereham Bypass (Methwold, Stradsett, Denver, Downham Market, Southery, Hilgay, Fordham, Ryston, West Dereham, Crimplesham, Wereham). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WIGGENHALL ST. GERMANS — Lynn Road from its junction with Fallow Pipe Road South to its junction with Mill Road to facilitate Anglian Water mains replacement works from 1st September to 12th October 2025 (may continue until 12th April 2026). Alternative route is via: High Road, Lynn Road, School Road, Sluice Road, The Avenue, Islington Road, A47, Saddlebow Road, High Road Roundabout (Tilney All Saints, Wiggenhall St. Germans, Tilney St. Lawrence). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
WIGGENHALL ST. GERMANS — High Road from its junction with Fallow Pipe Road for 1260m eastwards to facilitate mains replacement works from 1st September to 12th October 2025 (may continue until 12th April 2026). Alternative route is via: High Road, Low Road, Lynn Road, School Road, Sluice Road, The Avenue, Islington Road, A47 (Tilney All Saints, Wiggenhall St. Germans, Tilney St. Lawrence). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
