What is happening?

GORCHYMYN CEFNFFYRDD YR A40 A’R A449 (FFORDD OSGOI RHAGLAN, SIR FYNWY) (TERFYN CYFLYMDER 50 MYA DROS DRO) 2025

MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU wedi gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 14 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984. Mae angen y Gorchymyn am fod perygl tebygol i’r cyhoedd oherwydd cynllun cyffordd Monmouth Road a Groesenon Road a’r fynedfa a ddefnyddir gan gerddwyr i Gastell Rhaglan, ar gefnffordd yr A40 wrth Ffordd Osgoi Rhaglan, Sir Fynwy, neu gerllaw iddi.
Effaith y Gorchymyn yw gosod terfyn cyflymder 50 mya dros dro ar y darnau o gefnffordd yr A40 a chefnffordd yr A449 a ddisgrifir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn.

Daw’r Gorchymyn i rym ar 26 Medi 2025. Disgwylir y bydd y cyfyngiad dros dro yn weithredol o 00:01 o’r gloch ar y dyddiad hwnnw ac yn parhau mewn grym am gyfnod o 18 mis ar y mwyaf.

THE A40 & A449 TRUNK ROADS (RAGLAN BYPASS, MONMOUTHSHIRE) (TEMPORARY 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025

THE WELSH MINISTERS have made an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to the junction layout at Monmouth Road and Groesenon Road and the pedestrian access to Raglan Castle, on or near the A40 trunk road at Raglan Bypass, Monmouthshire.
The effect of the Order is to impose a temporary 50 mph speed limit on the lengths of the A40 and A449 trunk roads described in the Schedule to this Notice.
The Order comes into force on 26 September 2025. The temporary restriction is expected to operate from 00:01 hours on that date and to remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months.

SCHEDULE
The circulatory carriageway of Raglan Roundabout, Monmouthshire. The length of the westbound carriageway of the A40 trunk road that extends from its junction with the A449 southbound carriageway at Raglan Interchange to its junction with Raglan Roundabout, Monmouthshire.
The length of the eastbound carriageway of the A40 trunk road that extends from its junction with Raglan Roundabout to its junction with the A449 southbound carriageway at Raglan Interchange, Monmouthshire.
The length of the A449 northbound exit slip road at Raglan Interchange, Monmouthshire that extends from its nosing with the main A40/A449 northbound carriageway to its junction with the A40 westbound carriageway.
