What is happening?

 THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

PART OF SPALDINGTON ROAD, SPALDINGTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of Spaldington Road, Spaldington from its junction with Willitoft Road westbound for a distance of approximately 200 metres commencing 24 September 2025 until 26 September 2025.

The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed part of Spaldington Road, Spaldington installation of ducting and chambers for the new BDUK fibre network on behalf of Quickline Communications works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within three days.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Spaldington Road, Spaldington Water Tower Layby, A614 Holme Road, A614 Thorpe Road, A614 Hull Road Roundabout, B1230 Hull Road, B1230 Flatgate, B1228 Station Road and B1228 Wood Lane, Wressle CP, Howden CP, Spaldington CP, Eastrington CP, Howdenshire Ward, Howden Ward. The road will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians. The Order will commence 24 September 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
