Norfolk Row and Fargate - Suspension of One-Way Traffic

What is happening?



SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and
Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure
Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215)

Norfolk Row and Fargate (Suspension of One-Way Traffic) Order 2025 (“the Order”)

1. Sheffield City Council gives notice that it proposes to make the Order under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 and any other enabling powers over an area of the highway described in the schedule to the Order.
2. The Order is needed because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said highway.
3. If the Order is made, the Order will come into operation on 25 September 2025 and shall remain in force until the aforementioned works are completed as Sheffield City Council is satisfied that the execution of the works will take longer than 18 months. The restriction specified will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of notices.
4. While the Order is in operation: it will allow vehicles to proceed in both directions in the areas of highway as described in the schedule to the Order.
5. Pursuant to section 14(4), (7) and (8) of the RTRA 1984, any relevant provision contained within a prevailing Traffic Regulation Order which conflicts with the restrictions described above and is capable of suspension under those powers may be suspended where that is necessary for the purposes of the Order.
