What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(NORTHWOOD END ROAD, HAYNES)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northwood End Road, Haynes outside Hill Farm.

This temporary closure is required to enable new connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 9 to 11 September 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Standalone Warren.

The Order will come into operation on 9 September 2025 for a period of one months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HIGH STREET, FLITTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Flitton outside number 52.

This temporary closure is required to enable new gas service works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 9 September 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Wardhedges Road, Silsoe Road, Sand Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 8 September 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WEATHERCOCK LANE, ASPLEY GUISE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Weathercock Lane, Aspley Guise from Burrows Close to number 46.

This temporary closure is required to enable traffic calming works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 8 September to 3 October 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Aspley Hill, Station Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 8 September 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(OLD SILSOE ROAD, CLOPHILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Old Silsoe Road, Clophill from T junction to Goodwood Close.

This temporary closure is required to enable bank repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 September to 3 November 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 23 September 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WOOD LANE, ASPLEY GUISE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Wood Lane, Aspley Guise outside Hill House.

This temporary closure is required to enable poling works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 24 September 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Woodside, West Hill and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 24 September 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(AMPTHILL ROAD, SILSOE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Ampthill Road, Silsoe between number 42 and 52.

This temporary closure is required to enable tree felling and stump grinding works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 22 to 24 September 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via High Street, A6, A507 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 22 September 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(AMPTHILL ROAD AND BEDFORD ROAD, HOUGHTON CONQUEST)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

Ampthill Road, Houghton Conquest from Meadow Lane roundabout to 600 metres south Bedford Road, Houghton Conquest from Ampthill Road to Sollars Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway and carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on the following dates:

Ampthill Road, Houghton Conquest from 12 to 17 September 2025 between 8pm and 5am.

Bedford Road, Houghton Conquest from 18 September to 19 December 2025 for 24 hrs a day.

The roads will be closed at all times during these periods.

The alternative routes for this closure are: Ampthill Road – A5141, A6, A507, B530  and vice versa

Bedford Road – The Grove, B530 and vice versa

The Order will come into operation on 12 September 2025 for a period of four months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

Highways Act 1980 Central Bedfordshire Council Notice of Making of Public Path Order

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (AMPTHILL: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 6) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025

The above Order made on 29 August 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert part of Footpath No. 6, Ampthill.

The length of part of Footpath No. 6, Ampthill to be stopped up extends from its junction with Footpath No. 24, Ampthill at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0522 3965 in a south-south-westerly direction for approximately 3 metres to a brick wall at OS GR TL 0522 3965 then continues in a south-south-westerly direction for approximately 15 metres to a hedge at OS GR TL 0521 3964 then continues in a southsouth-westerly direction for approximately 155 metres to OS GR TL 0515 3950 then continues in a southerly direction for approximately 159 metres to terminate at an unaffected part of Footpath No. 6, Ampthill at OS GR TL 0513 3934.

The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of part of Footpath No. 6, Ampthill to be created extends from its junction with with Footpath No. 24, Ampthill at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0517 3968 in a south-south-westerly direction for approximately 327 metres to OS GR TL 0509 3936 then continues in a south-easterly direction for approximately 42 metres to terminate at an unaffected part of Footpath No. 6, Ampthill at OS GR TL 0513 3934.

The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Highway Assets Intelligence Team Leader, Central Bedfordshire Council Highways, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, SG17 5QT or definitivemap@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk not later than 9 October 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Representations and objections must include either a postal or email address. Any representations or objections made will be in the public domain and will be available for viewing/copying by members of the public.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Central Bedfordshire Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order and will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.
